Eternal Promises – T’Netha Bailey’s Mission to Light a Beacon of Faith & Hope for Others

By: Samantha Rojewski

A Nebraska Small Business Assistance Act (NSBAA) recipient, GNWBC client, and GROW Nebraska client, T’Netha Bailey is an Omaha native with a faith-based company committed to spreading hope to those struggling with mental health.

Bailey established Eternal Promises in 2022, an online shop featuring homemade candles, wax melts, and room sprays. In her teenage years through her early twenties, Bailey’s struggles with mental health led her to explore her spirituality, and she connected with the Christian faith. She began Eternal Promises as a reminder of God’s promises for others struggling with mental health or other personal challenges.

Bailey uses her unique, memorized formulas to create the 35 signature candles in her collection. She calculates how much wax and fragrance are needed for each 7-oz jar using a budgeting planner.  She prays over the candles to instill positivity and a sense of holiness in whoever lights them. Bailey also uses prayer to inspire the verses labelled on the candles.

“In the beginning, I was doing everything the way T’Netha wanted it, but when I really slowed down and started to pray about the vision God has for this [business], that’s when everything changed,” she said.

Currently, Bailey is keeping busy with holiday markets featuring her Christmas scents, including best seller Winter Mint Bliss and a limited-edition Apple Spice Noel.

Bailey connected with GNWBC after one of her friends took the Snap & Boost Business Plan Writing course. Bailey was persuaded to take the course, and she received guidance on how to market her business. It was a challenge strategizing how to market a faith-based company: how to sell the products but not “sell God.” Bailey landed on the name “Eternal Promises” instead of “God’s Promises” to convey her mission while appealing to more customers.

Through Snap & Boost, she also joined our parent organization, GROW Nebraska. Eternal Promises products are sold online, in GROW’s Buy Nebraska store located in Kearney, and GNWBC’s Pop-Up Store in Omaha.

Looking to the future, Bailey aims to utilize resources like social media more and stabilize the product line. Long-term, she dreams of opening her own store that houses and supports other faith-based companies.
